I asked one of our winter participants from last year to talk about his experience living and working in Vermont. Patricio Martinez is from Argentina, and worked as a ski instructor at Stowe Mountain Resort.
Here’s what Patricio said:
In my experience I learned that we are all the same, here and there, we like and enjoy the same things. You can meet golden people and make real friends. They will love you and miss you when you’re gone, and you will too, and the place as well. I will always want to return, and I will do it.
I gain plenty of skills, but the most important is that I gain confidence, because I had to develop myself in a job speaking a different language. Then you realise that you are a very capable person. And when you have confidence, things go well.
My favourite memory from the winter is skiing in a powder day through the woods and parks with my friends, sharing stories and laughter.
