Jaimee English (pictured in the cowboy hat in the middle) is a Canadian who has been working at Hampton Country Day Camp for the past 3 summers. She is studying Kindergarten and Elementary Education at McGill University. I wanted to put my 1st spotlight on Jaimee as she is also one of our newest recruiters in Canada and we are super excited to have her on-board.
I asked her a few questions about her previous summers and here is what she had to say:
What is your favorite memory from the summer?
“My favorite memory of the summer is when one of my campers- after weeks of not wanting to- finally decided to try the low ropes course. He loved it!! It was amazing to see the change in his attitude and confidence in such a short amount of time.”
What advice would you have for an individual looking to come to the US?
“My advice is to not be afraid to put yourself out there and be open to new opportunities! Working at camps in the US is so rewarding and exciting, but it’s only as much fun as you make it. Having a positive attitude and being ready to try new things is super important and will help make your summer the best!”
Jaimee is planning to return to Hampton Country Day camp in 2018.
Yours in Camping,
