Alexis and I got the pleasure of visiting Camp Kweebec in Schwenksville, PA. Tuesday June 19th.
Camp is located on 180 acres and has 300 campers with approximately 150 boys and 150 girls. Camp officially starts this Sunday 24th June but they did have some kids from the American Diabetes Association doing activities and running around camp.
The Assistant Director Jon Weston was our guide and made it possible for us to speak to all but 1 of our staff members who was running an errand at King of Prussia.
They have 36 staff here and the feedback was excellent – admittedly camp has yet to start – but we both concluded that this was a very happy group who were really enjoying camp so far. Some of the Support Staff have been at camp for a month and are having a very good time. Everyone is very excited for the campers to come and for the summer to really start. Many of them are here in America for the first time and are enjoying learning about American culture and American Summer Camp.
We felt a lot of the positive feedback was due to Jon Weston who is fully involved in all aspect of camp and camp like. The staff clearly like him and all he does for them. We thanked Jon for all his hard work and for making our participants feel part of camp life. It was an excellent visit all around!
