J-1 Visa Program Specialist

We’re looking for an experienced J-1 Visa Program Specialist to join our team at IENA. In this role, you will manage all aspects of the J-1 visa process, from reviewing applications to ensuring successful program completion. You’ll ensure compliance with program regulations and provide essential support to both participants and host organizations.

The ideal candidate will have prior experience working with J-1 visa programs, a solid understanding of program administration, and a strong knowledge of regulations. You should be passionate about cultural exchange and have the expertise to manage complex processes while delivering excellent customer support. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and process a substantial volume of applications and documents, ensuring meticulous and timely review for accuracy and adherence to program regulations.
  • Coordinate the placement of participants with host employers across the U.S.
  • Maintain records on all databases, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Provide excellent customer support to clients, addressing their questions and concerns promptly.
  • Communicate with clients, both verbally and in writing, ensuring their needs and requirements are fully understood.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Prior experience in J-1 Visa Program administration or similar exchange visitor programs.
  • Experience with the SEVIS System is strongly preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal. (English required, Spanish a plus)
  • Proficiency in standard office software (Microsoft Office Suite, Gmail, Google Suite).
  • Willingness and ability to learn and master the company’s database and systems.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote setting.
  • U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency and living in the U.S.
