It’s time to start thinking about completing your 2019 tax return! The US Government requires that all J1 exchange visitors pay taxes on any and all wages earned while in the USA. What this means is that if you’ve earned even $1 while on your cultural exchange program, you will need to file your US taxes. IENA recognizes that taxes can be daunting and has therefore, joined forces with US non-resident tax specialist, Sprintax, to help you to understand your US tax obligations and how to claim your tax refund the easy way! If you were on any of our J1 visa programs last year, you should have received an email from Sprintax with information on how to contact them. Just in case you missed it, I’ve provided the email from Sprintax here for you to read! If you choose to use Sprintax, they will process everything for you and answer all of your questions regarding taxes!
IENA has arranged discounted access to Sprintax for you. Sprintax will guide you through the tax preparation process, help you to prepare all of the necessary documents and will check if you are due a refund.
ALL YOU NEED TO DO IS:
1. Register and follow the simple instructions
2. Complete the online questionnaire
3. Enter the IENA discount code on the ‘Review your order’ page (please contact IENA for the discount code)
4. Sprintax will prepare your tax forms.
