When you work at summer camp, you’ll quickly realize that one style starts to take over your wardrobe: tie dye. T-shirts, socks, bandannas, pillow cases- anything you can get your hands on will quickly get tie dyed! Below are directions for one of my favorite tie dye designs- stripes!
.) Lay your item out flat.
.) Pleat the fabric, either vertically or horizontally. This means that you make many small folds in the fabric. You should now have one long, thin piece of fabric that is folded inside.
.) Place rubber bands down the fabric, holding the pleats together.
.) Dye each rubber band section a different color, and viola! Open up your item to see your striped design!
