Camp Tips: How To Use A Propane Stove

When we travel and explore at camp or lead outdoor adventure trips it is always useful to know how to safely set up the stove.

To Set Up:

1. Set up lid
2. Close both burner valves on front of stove by turning firmly clockwise.
3. Remove regulator with hose and bottle support from stove.
4. Close regulator knob by turning counterclockwise.
5. Remove cap from top of propane bottle.  Screw bottle into regulator by turning right.
6. Snap bottle support onto neck of bottle.
7. Screw hose into stove inlet.
8. Turn regulator knob fully open.  Check all connections and hoses for leaks applying soapy water with cloth.  Never use a flame to check for leaks.
9. Close regulator knob by turn clockwise.

To Light:                                                         

1. Close burner valves firmly clockwise.
2. Hold lighted match near burner and open valve. (open right valve first)
3. Adjust flame with burner valve.
4. To light left burner, repeat steps 3 and 4.
5. HAPPY COOKING!
6. Close burner valves firmly clockwise.  (right then left)
7. Clean and repack stove
